The permit, field plan, site details, and seed trail need to exist before the season gets away from you.

The hemp permit conditions are practical documents, not theory. Before planting, the farm should know its approved site, cultivar source, responsible people, and how the field is mapped and identified.

If a team leaves this until seedlings are already in the ground, the season starts under preventable pressure.

During the season

Sampling readiness and recordkeeping are active tasks, not year-end paperwork.

During the season, the farm should keep a real log of planting, inputs, field changes, expected harvest timing, and any sampling-related communication. The point is not paperwork for its own sake; the point is traceability that can survive inspection.

Strong seasonal records also make it easier to explain the crop to buyers, auditors, and transport partners.

When material leaves the farm

Movement is where weak compliance becomes visible quickly.

Once hemp moves, the documentation stack matters: transport paperwork, analytical evidence, destination details, and any export-related documents if the crop is leaving the country. Movement is often where farms realize too late that the file is incomplete.
